Golden Bay Chiropractic Works Where High Technology Meets Natural Healing

pianoTechniques used at Golden Bay Chiropractic Works

A number of highly effective adjusting approaches are used to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our analysis and over 30 years of experience.Think of an adjustment as “tuning” a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.

The primary adjusting techniques we use include methods that can be used on babies, young children, teenagers, adults and seniorsNote  due to their more sensitive physiology, the very young and the elderly will automatically be  given the lowest force techniques available. Our objective in all spinal adjustment is to be as specific and use as low force as possible.

We use hydraulic tables to ensure all, and in particular elderly patients will not have any problems getting on to the chiropractic table.
Clients simply stand and the hydraulics gently lowers them to a lying position.  Then they are gently brought up to  the standing position.
This alone can help  preserve the benefit of the spinal adjustment.

Impulse IQ Computerised instrument:
The Impulse IQ Computerised instrument is the most advanced hand held instrument in modern chiropractic. The handle houses a computer that monitors soft tissue feedback and precision can revolutionise results particularly in the ever difficult area of the upper neck and significant results with L5 lower spinal discs which are notoriously difficult with standard chiropractic techniques.

Patients are impressed by the results of the IQ instrument.

Arthrostim Instrument:
The Arthrostim Instrument is an electrical chiropractic instrument that delivers 15-20 small mechanical  impulses per second, and has powerful stress releasing qualities especially In the cervical or neck  region.
Lower back stress points can also be relieved. Cranial  skull stress release can be  achieved with a very special approach via Arthrostim.
Force variability is highly adjustable in order to accommodate a patients comfort level.

Activator Methods®:
This is a system of spinal evaluation, combined with a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers a consistent, low-force thrust.
This technique is completely safe for all age groups.

Thompson Technique:
This is a technique where a highly specialised hydraulic  table is used which has “easy going” drop sections in the table.
The technique is physics based relating to “momentum.”
I would categorise it as low force and very user friendly for sensitive patients.

After identifying which spinal bones have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is administered to free up “stuck” joints.
Diversified  is the most common manual chiropractic technique.

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT):
Occipital Technique helps normalise the relationship between the pelvis and the head, using gravity to make the necessary correction usually  via specialized wedges

Trigger Point Therapy:
This therapy applies pressure on active muscular tension points on the body to reduce muscular  stress and promote balance

If you’ve been to a chiropractor before and prefer to be adjusted in a particular way, please let Dr Miller know.
We want you to be at ease, enjoy and fully benefit from your chiropractic care.

We are aware that some patients strongly prefer low force instrument adjusting, and others more traditional manual adjustment.

The techniques achieve the same objective which is reduced nerve interference and improved biomechanics.

We will accommodate you if you have a strong preference  for either procedure.

Usually we blend techniques if you do not have a strong  preference.

This decision is based on my experience in relation to your specific situation.
